- As far as the best offering out there -- Look for "DJGPP" -- there is at
- least one news group devoted to this compiler.

- My opinion -- Spending the $100 or so on a student edition of a compiler will
- likely be more than worth your while. With the Watcom and Borland products,
- you will get both DOS and Windows targetting in one package. These and
- Microsoft's compiler will also give you a large pool of documentation on the
- libraries and the C and C++ languages and will be more readilly supported by
- the companies behind them as well as in news groups and schools.
